The Florence project, American Art Song: Poets and Composers from the United States, directed by Aloma Bardi and Nicole Panizza, is a collaboration of ICAMus with the Lyceum Club Internazionale Firenze and The University of Florence. The opening event will take place on May 18, 2020 in Florence, Palazzo Adami Lami, home to the Lyceum. Lectures by Aloma Bardi and Nicole Panizza; concert by Nadine Benjamin (soprano) and Nicole Panizza (piano); songs by Lori Laitman, Aaron Copland, Luigi Zaninelli, Samuel Barber; poems by Mary Oliver, Emily Dickinson, James Agee, Frederic Prokosch. This program includes numerous rarities and emphasizes the prominence of American women poets and composers.
