The antique 18th-19th cent. marbleized paper patterns used as background for the cover image and some slides of this presentation are from the historic Linari Library, formerly owned by the Bardi-Grassini Family, now donated to the Biblioteca Antica del Sacro Eremo di Camaldoli (Arezzo, Italy). The fragment of Walt Whitman’s manuscript is from his poem Song of Myself (I Celebrate Myself) in Leaves of Grass, I edition, Brooklyn 1855; from Section 18 of Song of Myself, in the final edition, 1891-92, p. 43; Italian translation by Aloma Bardi.
