In celebration of George Gershwin’s birthday, we displayed the newly published biography by Richard Crawford, Summertime: George Gershwin’s Life in Music.
George Gershwin was born on September 26, 1898.
In celebration of this beloved American composer, on his birthday, we displayed his newly published, masterful biography by Richard Crawford, Summertime: George Gershwin’s Life in Music (Norton, September 2019).
We also displayed on this special occasion all of Crawford's books, which illuminate American music, and revisited the numerous Gershwin events of the Center over the years.
