Jerome N. Margolis (born in 1941) wrote That Their Memory Be Blessed in the aftermath of the Pittsburgh Synagogue mass shooting that took place on October 27, 2018.
In 2019, Dr. Margolis donated this unpublished and previously unperformed score to the ICAMus Special Collections, as part of a major donation of his music manuscripts, which initiated an international project for the performance of his works.
Conductor Davide Casali is a renowned Jewish-and-Holocaust-music specialist, and the director of the festival Viktor Ullmann. The world première performance of this unpublished work was a collaboration of Davide Casali and the Festival Viktor Ullmann with ICAMus and with the composer.
