The comments on Esotismi musicali del Dibbuk. Ispirazioni da un soggetto del folclore ebraico by Aloma Bardi are accompanied and illuminated by new choreographies and visual art.
Aloma Bardi's book, published in 2014 by the University of Naples "L'Orientale" - Center for Judaic Studies (in the Series "Archivio di Studi Ebraici" directed by Professor Giancarlo Lacerenza) is introduced in a non-academic way. The volume focuses on musical adaptations of S. An-Ski’s Yiddish play, The Dybbuk: Or, Between Two Worlds--most notably by Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, and Solomon Epstein--also investigating the significance of George Gershwin’s unaccomplished project for an opera, The Dybbuk, conceived before he composed Porgy and Bess.
