New ICAMus publication. Inner Sounds: The Themes of Nature and Identity. “Nature Is What We Hear.” Lecture by Aloma Bardi Released in the In-Depth Section.

Aloma Bardi’s conference paper presented at the Lyceum Club Internazionale Firenze, May 16, 2022. A Collaboration of ICAMus with the Florence Lyceum. A study of the American Romantic imagination—philosophy, poetry, art—and its impact on the American Art Song. In Italian, with slides including original texts & documents, and visual art.

The antique 18th-19th cent. marbleized paper patterns used as background for the cover image and some slides of this presentation are from the historic Linari Library, formerly owned by the Bardi-Grassini Family, now donated to the Biblioteca Antica del Sacro Eremo di Camaldoli (Arezzo, Italy). The fragment of Walt Whitman’s manuscript is from his poem Song of Myself (I Celebrate Myself) in Leaves of Grass, I edition, Brooklyn 1855; from Section 18 of Song of Myself, in the final edition, 1891-92, p. 43; Italian translation by Aloma Bardi.
