The Trio Moderno Italiano (Alberto Bologni, violin; Fausto Bombardieri, percussion; Carlo Palese, piano) performs a program of American musical innovators: Charles E. Ives, Henry Cowell, Alan Hovhaness, and Lou Harrison. Aloma Bardi’s introductory lecture explores the significance of American musical experimentation and its surprising historical roots.
