THE PERFORMER OF HEINRICH AND FOSTER VOCAL PIECES AT VILLA BARDINI, FLORENCE, ON APRIL 4TH, 2017

In the photo below: soprano MYUNG SAN KO. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, she is a graduate student at the Conservatory of Music "Luigi Cherubini" of Florence. On the ICAMus Early American Music program, among other pieces, she premières Anthony Philip Heinrich's The Voice of Faithful Love, a lovely, rare 1832 song, recently rediscovered by Aloma Bardi and Viola Shaula Valerio in the Heinrich Collection at the Library of Congress Music Division in Washington, DC. The score was bound in the composer's Scrap Book. Myung San Ko gives what is most likely the first performance of this piece since Heinrich's time (but there is no evidence of any performance ever of the song).
