Concert of Camerata Strumentale di Prato conducted by Jonathan Webb as homage to ICAMus and the American Music Center/Centro di Documentazione sulla Musica Americana.
ICAMus has been working on two great 20th-century American composers, AARON COPLAND and SAMUEL BARBER, in preparation for the December 12, 2024 concert of Camerata Strumentale di Prato conducted by Jonathan Webb, whose program includes Copland’s Appalachian Spring - Suite for 13 instruments, and Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 for voice and orchestra. We express our appreciation to the Camerata for presenting the concert as a homage to ICAMus and the recently established American Music Center Prato/Centro di Documentazione sulla Musica Americana!

Aloma Bardi's Program Notes include the text by James Agee set to music by Barber in Knoxville, with a new Italian translation, as well as a historical note on the Shaker dance tune Simple Gifts as set to music by Aaron Copland in Appalachian Spring.
