Marta Poggesi introduces the Foster performance in a pre-concert lecture focusing on the historical background of the songs, and on the nature and meaning of this unusual program. Dr. Poggesi, an American-music specialist and a pianist, has been on the ICAMus Board of Directors since 2006. She is the pianist and music coordinator for the S.C. Foster vocal-instrumental program, a collaboration between ICAMus and the Scuola Comunale di Musica "Giuseppe Verdi" of Prato, Italy.
